Randell Smith: Hi, how are you today?
arcelia: Hi, I'd like to change password for email arcelia@maycom.com.mx, but I don't see an option for that in webmail...
Randell Smith: You need to log into the MailCentral to change the mailbox password.
Randell Smith: To change the password of the mailbox, please follow the steps given below:
Randell Smith: 1. Log into the control panel with account username and password.
Randell Smith: 2. Click on ‘MailCentral’ under the section ‘Email’.
Randell Smith: 3. Click on ‘Edit’ link in front of the email address for which you want to change the password.
Randell Smith: 4. Click on the ‘Change Password’ button.
Randell Smith: 5. Enter the new password and click on the ‘Change’ button.
arcelia: by "control panel" you mean https://secure.ipower.com/secure/login.bml?err=
Randell Smith: Yes.
arcelia: And the login and password for the control panel is different than login and password for mailbox, isn't it?
Randell Smith: Yes, Arcelia.
arcelia: ok, do you handle also abuse@ complaints?
Randell Smith: Yes.
arcelia: the mailbox arcelia@maycom.com.mx has password "arcelia" and therefore is used by spammers to send spam
arcelia: And I'm not the rightful owner of this mailbox, but since I cannot change the password I will handle the case to you.
Randell Smith: To protect your account from unauthorized changes, can you please verify for me the answer to the Security Question:
Randell Smith: What is your mother's maiden name?
arcelia: please read my last sentence...
Randell Smith: In order to assist you further, I need to authenticate you as the owner of the account.
arcelia: I am not the owner of this mailbox, but I know the password for the mailbox
arcelia: and I know this mailbox is used by spammers - also not the owners - to send spam
arcelia: every spammer in the world know the password for this mailbox now
arcelia: if your control panel allows to set up such trivial passwords then your control panel is broken
Randell Smith: May I place you on hold while I review your account and get back to you within 3 to 4 minutes?
arcelia: if you don't disable that mailbox your IP will be blacklisted in DNSBLs and your paying customers will have trouble to send emails
arcelia: ok
Randell Smith: I appreciate your patience. I am researching on the issue but I will return in 3-4 minutes with some more information.
arcelia: ok
Randell Smith: Thank you for holding.
Randell Smith: I'm sorry to inform you that without any authentication I'm not able to assist you further.
Randell Smith: Did you receive my last message?
arcelia: yes
arcelia: I'm going to write an article about professional services you provide... Your customers will love it...
Randell Smith: You can contact owner of the account and ask them to change the password.
arcelia: you mean I can contact the spammers which have control over this mailbox now?
Randell Smith: No, you can contact owner of the domain name 'maycom.com.mx'.
arcelia: I don't know the owner/your customer and his contact details
arcelia: and probably he/she will not understand what I am talking about
Randell Smith: You can contact them at: <munged>@maycom.com.mx .
Randell Smith: Did you receive my last message?
arcelia: yes, hang on
Randell Smith: Thank you for your patience. I will be back with some more information in 3 to 4 minutes.
arcelia: ok, it seems that they have <munged>@. Did you notice my opinion about your control panel and it's password policy?
Randell Smith: Yes.
arcelia: therefore that would be all (unless you have questions), have a nice day
Randell Smith: Thank you for chatting with us. Please feel free to contact us at any time. We are available 24x7.
Randell Smith: Bye!

Ale 5 minut później host został wyłączony... co okazało się tylko czkawką, bo rano serwer działa jakby nigdy nic i hasło nadal nie zmienione.
